'With research you gain knowledge. Without it, you gain experience.'
(My most favourite saying)
For over four years, I wrote a weekly column for Stockhead. The articles were all about some of the antics that I would get up to, having started my stockbroking career in London, at the age of 16.
In my career, I have traded on every major exchange in the world, in equities, options, futures, options on futures (that was scary), commodities like gold and silver, plus options on currency futures.
In fact, at one point I was the largest trader in Japanese Warrants, outside of Japan.
That was in 1986.
"Funny, irreverent, often un-PC and sometimes even shocking... The Secret Broker provides unrivalled insight into the wild London broking scene of the '80s. It doesn't get more authentic than sharing a bath with Alan Bond, a bar tab with the Queen's broker, or rubbing elbow patches with Tommy Nutter."
"Scams, swindles, smart money and some of the longest lunches ever taken by men in suits. TSB's storybook is inexhaustible and there's never a dull moment."
